A VISUAL JOURNEY
I grew up in an artistic family, as my father was an artist/art teacher and mother a musician/music teacher. But early on my heart drifted to the visual arts. Majoring in art at the University of Central Florida and shortly after graduating I began teaching others. Teaching K-12 art to focusing on high school and then teaching adults at The Art Room in the Orlando area.
My artwork has received numerous awards for my portraits, receiving a Best of Show in the city of Orlando Public Art Show along with another first place in oils. I have received several awards in street painting, winning best of show at the Disney Festival of the Masters.
I have developed a style of realism mixed with looser brush strokes. From a distance my work portrays reality but on closer inspection the painting maintains a liveliness through brushstrokes of color. Ever concentrating on how light and shadow are portrayed through the use of color.
Create in me a clean heart, O God, and renew a steadfast spirit with me.
